About Mrs. Adamowicz's Owls

Welcome to our classroom! Take a peek inside to see how we are developing our minds! We are a 3rd grade class at Burris Laboratory School on the Ball State University campus. Monday, August 15, 2011 unveils a 1:1 iPad initiative in our elementary school. We have the opportunity to influence, not only what our own population of students know about technology, but also what thousands of future teachers know about technology use in the classroom. In addition to our wonderful K-12 students, each year over 850 pre-service teachers participate, observe, teach, and learn in our classrooms. Join us on our journey!

  7. Iwrite, Iread, Isucceed, on Ipads- that’s a lot of I’os! My reaction was of excitment, happiness, and curiousness. How did they get 15 people to make over 200 stories? That must of taken up a lot of computers and time. Thank you journalism teachers!
I liked the auditorium presentation. They showed fun videos, but I couldn’t really hear the main speakers very well. Maddy won our contest- Yay Maddy! Can I have the Itunes gift card? Please?
Creating the multi-media stories was fun. I liked seeing all the videos and funny pictures. Anna’s story was my absolute favorite! No offense to anyone else though. Happy Young Author’s Day!

  9. Dear Blog,

I felt good about my young authors story. In fact, I felt so good about it, I already know what I am going to do next year. It will be called “Jack and the Beanstalk, (From the Giants point of view. I thought of it wjen I was reading Jack and the Beanstalk at home. Then I thought to myself, “I wonder how the giant feels?” and I came up with the idea of my next book.
Also, you know how we had that questions sheet? I won! In my prize, (a bag) there was, 2 glow sticks, gum, A $10 iTunes gift card and 2 lollipops.

  11. The Young Authors Multimedia Project was really fun and cool. It was neat seeing all the stories filled with excitement and technology. The celebration was extremely fun, too.
My reaction when I saw the stories was amazed. Although I kind of wanted to do our Young Authors stories on paper, the journalists that helped with this project did a great job. I loved the videos, pictures, music clips, and wording that everyone used. It was great.
I loved the celebration for success, too. I liked seeing everyone’s stories. The doughnut holes were really awesome, too! It was yummy! And, Maddy, congrats for winning the trivia!

  12. Dear Mrs. Adamowicz,
Multi-Media stories are fun, interesting, and grand!!
This project was fun because all of the stories had great genres! The Young Authors project was fun because to me, I thought that making a book on an iPad is lots of fun! This project was also fun because all of the plots in every story. My reaction to the stories ia a great reaction because I’m so impressed with all of the characters, plots, and settings in every story. I have a great reaction to all of the stories because the pictures are really entertaining. I also have a great reaction to all of our stories because the books on our iPads let us do lots of stuff while reading that story. I’m so glad that we had a celebration for our Young Authors stories because we got to show the great work we’ve done with our stories. I loved it when we had our Young Authors Celebration because it felt to me that I’ve done something grand. I’m also glad that we had our Young Authors Celebration because when my story was on iBooks, it made me happy.
